GridLex – Privacy Policy

GridLex (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a word game published by Shaheed Khaled. You can contact us at support@gridlex-wordpuzzle.com.

1. Who the app is for

GridLex is intended for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

2. Information we collect

• If you play as a guest: a randomly generated device ID, a random anonymous Firebase ID, and your game progress (puzzle results, scores, Lex Points, daily streaks, hint usage).
• If you create an account: the information above, plus your email address, the display name you choose, and an optional referral code.
• Leaderboards: your display name, score and completion time are visible to other players.
• Subscription/promo status linked to your email address, if you take part in a promotion.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or payment card details. We do not sell your personal information.

3. How we use it

To run the game, save your progress, show leaderboards, let you sign in on another device, prevent cheating, and fix problems.

4. Services we use

Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) stores account and game data. Firebase is operated by Google and processes data on our behalf. See Google’s privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. This version of the app contains no advertising. If advertising is added in future, we will update this policy first.

5. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections. Our database rules allow each player to change or delete only their own records.

6. How long we keep data

We keep your data while your account is active. Accounts and guest records that have not been used for 12 months may be deleted automatically. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see section 7).

7. Deleting your account and data

• In the app: Profile → Edit Profile → “Delete my account”. This immediately and permanently deletes your login, profile, leaderboard entries and promotion record.
• If you no longer have the app: see our Delete Account page, or email support@gridlex-wordpuzzle.com from the address you registered with, with the subject “Delete my GridLex account”. We will delete your data within 30 days.

8. Your choices

You may play as a guest without giving an email address. You can change your display name in the app, and you can ask us to see, correct or delete your data by emailing us.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date above.
